Developer Koontz McCombs has selected four Port Aransas-area builders — Keystone Co, Conner Coastal Homes, Buckwild Builders, and T. Kypke Builders — as preferred builders for its Palmilla Beach & Golf Club development, formerly known as the Newport Dunes Golf Club and which the San Antonio-area developer rescued last year from bankruptcy. These same four builders got their chops constructing luxury beachfront homes a couple of miles down Highway 361 at Sea Oats Group’s Cinnamon Shore, the New Urbanist development on the Texas Coast. The Palmilla Beach site includes an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course, a bridge that allows residents to walk from beach to bay without crossing the highway and large dunes that will shield homes from the highway’s view.
The San Antonio Business Journal has an informative article about the development, although the home prices used in the article appear to refer to the lot prices.
